MrBeast releases lengthy statement after collaborator Ava Kris Tyson accused of grooming a minor

MrBeast releases lengthy statement after collaborator Ava Kris Tyson accused of grooming a minor

YouTuber Ava Kris Tyson said she was 'permanently' stepping away from MrBeast's channel, however, MrBeast's statement contradicts her claims

MrBeast has addressed co-worker Ava Kris Tyson's departure from his YouTube channel, revealing the 'immediate action' he took when the accusations first arose.

A series of social media posts were released in the last week accusing YouTuber Ava Kris Tyson of sending inappropriate messages to a minor.

Tyson took to her platform to 'apologize' for her 'past behavior and comments', but strongly denied the accusations of grooming, also revealing she'd made the decision to 'permanently step away' from MrBeast's channel.

And James 'Jimmy' Donaldson - a.k.a. MrBeast - has since addressed the controversy.

A video shared to YouTube accused Tyson of grooming a fan when they were 13-years-old and the YouTuber was 20, sharing alleged evidence of the interactions in the form of Snapchat messages.

The post also drew on comments made publicly on social media, which Tyson later apologized for in a statement shared to Twitter, stating: "I humbly apologise to anyone I have hurt with my unacceptable social media posts, past actions, and to those who may feel betrayed by how I used to act online."

However, Tyson argued her behavior never 'extended beyond bad edgy jokes' and called the allegations of her having groomed a young fan 'disgusting'. She said she's 'never groomed anyone' and even referred to the 'person who gets brought up in these accusations' - a gamer and video editor who goes by LavaGS as having 'vocally supported that they are false'.

Indeed, LavaGS denied the accusations in his own post to Twitter, stating he was 'never exploited' or 'taken advantage of' and is 'not a victim'.

Tyson ultimately revealed she would be stepping away from MrBeast's channel 'permanently' so to not 'impact the hundreds of people who work' there.

And MrBeast has since taken to Twitter himself to release a statement.

In a post to his page shared earlier today (25 July), MrBeast wrote: "Over the last few days, I’ve become aware of the serious allegations of Ava Tyson's behavior online and I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts.

"During that time, I have been focused on hiring an independent third party to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure I have all the facts. That said, I’ve seen enough online and taken immediate action to remove Ava from the company, my channel, and any association with MrBeast. I do not condone or support any of the inappropriate actions.

"I will allow the independent investigators the necessary time to conduct a comprehensive investigation and will take any further actions based on their findings."

UNILAD has contacted Ava Kris Tyson for comment.
