Shannon Sharpe has revealed what actually happened when his Instagram went live with an explicit-sounding video.
Yesterday (September 11), Sharpe went live on his Instagram page and thousands of fans hoping to see the 56-year-old talk about his illustrious career as a professional tight end in the National Football League (NFL) got a whole lot more than they bargained for.

Instead of coming face-to-face with the pro athlete, thousands of Instagram users found themselves staring up at a ceiling - the phone later placed face down on a surface - and listening to the sound of a woman's moans.
Oh and at one part of the livestream, you could reportedly pick up Sharpe's name being said too.
Sharpe's social media later claimed he'd been hacked. The post stated: "Beware my @shannonsharpe84 Instagram was hacked this morning, my team and I are working vigorously to figure this out - UNC."
However, he's now revealed that's not exactly what happened.

In an emergency episode of his podcast, Nightcap, Sharpe said: "Obviously I'm embarrassed. Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details - the audio - heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons."
The former NFL pro reflected there's 'a lot of people' who 'count' on him to remain 'professional at all times'.
"And I always try to be professional at all times, even when I’m behind closed doors, I still try to maintain a level of professional even though I'm in the privacy of my own home.

"And I'm very disappointed in myself - not for the act - I think there are millions and billions of people of consenting age that engage in activities, but for your most intimate detail on the audio to be heard I’m disappointed in myself. I let a lot of people down."
Sharpe explained he's reached out to his kids and sister, emphasizing it 'was not staged' and he 'came in' and 'threw [his] phone on the bed'.
The athlete says he'd 'never been on IG live' before or 'turned [it] on' so doesn't 'know' how it all works.

"All of a sudden my other phone is going off and people are calling me on FaceTime," he continues.
Sharpe then realized what had happened and his 'heart sank,' noting he wanted to tell everyone the 'truth' and clarify he wasn't hacked.
He resolves: "It was me being a healthy, active male."
