Post Malone scores major victory in battle for custody of daughter amid split from ex

Post Malone and Hee Sung Park welcomed a daughter in 2023

Post Malone has scored a major win in his case for custody against his ex-fiancé.

The singer, who announced the birth of his daughter and his engagement in June 2022, is currently embroiled in a custody battle over their 2-year-old after the pair split at the end of 2024.

Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, is fighting his ex Hee Sung ‘Jamie’ Park regarding the arrangement.

While not much is known about Park, her name was revealed once she filed for custody of their daughter.

As Malone had kept their relationship out of the spotlight, he rarely referred to her, but when he did, he called her ‘Jamie’.

The pair seemed to be doing well, with the singer being very protective over her and their daughter when she was born.

He said in an interview with CR Fashion Book in September 2023: “I feel like a lot of people feel entitled to know every single detail of everyone’s life and it’s why I don’t want to post any pictures of my baby, because I want her to be able to make that decision whenever she wants to and is ready.”

However, in January 2025, Malone and Park were no more, and he was seen in Rome with Christy Lee for a dinner date at the Mascagni Hotel.

Now, the singer has won a victory in the custody battle after he filed his own custody documents in Utah on Monday 14 April, two days before his ex-fiancée filed her petition in Los Angeles.

Because he got in first, the case will be settled in Utah and not LA, according to TMZ.

This means that he’ll be able to save a lot of money, as California allows for higher payments of child support.

For example, according to the World Population Review page, the average amount received in child support payments in California is $6,497, while Utah sees payments of $5,610.

Allegedly, she is asking that Malone pays for her legal costs incurred in the court battle, and as for child support, Park is said to have said in her filings as per DailyMail: “The court may make orders for support of the children and issue an earnings assignment without further notice to either party.”

Sources told TMZ that Malone filed in Utah because this is where he and Park originally split their 50/50 custody of their daughter, even though Park moved to California at the start of 2025.

While Park’s name was revealed during the filing, their daughter’s name is still private, and Park’s court docs as refers to her as ‘DDP’.

As per TMZ, Park is allegedly filing for full physical custody of their daughter, with Malone able to have visitation rights.

After Park and Malone stopped dating, he began dating Lee, as per TMZ which stated that she is a Parsons School of Design student based in New York City.
