Elle King has broken her silence after her father Rob Schneider apologized in the wake of allegations she made about his ‘toxic’ behavior during her childhood.
American musician Elle - whose real name is Tanner Elle Schneider - is the eldest daughter of Grown Ups actor Schneider, 60, and former model London King, 51.
Previously the 35-year-old claimed she had an estranged relationship with her famous father in the past, telling Dumb Blonde podcast host Bunnie XO that she’d once gone ‘four or five years’ without contact.

The ‘Ex’s & Oh’s’ singer went on to allege that when she broke through into the music industry, her dad rang her and asked her not to speak about him in interviews.
“My dad called me, and was like, ‘Don’t f***ing talk about me in the press’,” she claimed.
King went on to tell Bunnie XO - who has been married to rapper Jelly Roll since 2016 - that Schneider had once sent her to ‘fat camp’ and that she had gotten in trouble for not losing any weight.

Elsewhere, the musician clarified that she ‘disagree[s] with a lot of the things’ the comedian has allegedly said about ‘anti-gay’ rights in the past.
Warning: strong language:
Following his daughter’s allegations, Schneider addressed the vitriol in an interview with Tucker Carlson where he apologized for his past actions.

"I wanted to tell my daughter, Elle I love you," he began. “And I wish I was the father in my 20s that you needed and clearly I wasn't and I hope that you can forgive me for my shortcomings.
"I love you completely. I love you entirely and I just want you to be well and happy with your beautiful baby Lucky. I wish you all the best.
"I feel terrible and I just want you to know that I don't take anything that you say personally."
In the wake of the interview, King has opened up about how she really felt about the public apology.

"I never in a million years thought that that was going to go viral. I was just speaking about my childhood and about my truth," she told People. “I was not trying to hurt him.”
The four-time Grammy Award nominee went on to say that she doesn’t believe family feuds should be kept ‘behind closed doors’ and that sometimes you just have to ‘say things [to] get them off your chest’.
“But ultimately, I think an apology on Tucker Carlson is like a double negative, right? Means nothing,” King added.

Despite the public spat with Schneider, King claims the conversation has allowed LGBTQ+ people to recognize her as an ‘ally’.
“And if that's the biggest thing to come out of that platform, then I would've done it 10 more f****ng times because I am an ally, they have one in me, and I'm grateful,” she said.
