Rob Schneider is being called out on social media for his 'monstrous' response to Dikembe Mutombo’s death.
The Basketball Hall of Famer tragically died recently at the age of 58 after a battle with brain cancer.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement: "Dikembe Mutombo was simply larger than life.

"On the court, he was one of the greatest shot blockers and defensive players in the history of the NBA. Off the floor, he poured his heart and soul into helping others."
The statement continued: "There was nobody more qualified than Dikembe to serve as the NBA's first Global Ambassador. He was a humanitarian at his core.
"He loved what the game of basketball could do to make a positive impact on communities, especially in his native Democratic Republic of the Congo and across the continent of Africa.

"I had the privilege of traveling the world with Dikembe and seeing first-hand how his generosity and compassion uplifted people. He was always accessible at NBA events over the years - with his infectious smile, deep booming voice and signature finger wag that endeared him to basketball fans of every generation.
"Dikembe's indomitable spirit continues on in those who he helped and inspired throughout his extraordinary life. I am one of many people whose lives were touched by Dikembe's big heart and I will miss him dearly."
Many fans and basketball stars have paid tribute to Mutombo, though Schneider's response has been called out by fans.
The actor quote tweeted of Mutombo from back in 2021 urging people to get vaccinated against Covid-19 with: "Rest in Peace… I’m sure this is just (another) coincidence. But I took a pass on the Jab and I’m gonna not let anyone I know (and who will Listen) get it either!"

It's worth noting there is no evidence Covid jabs can be detrimental to someone's health, and they have been clinically tested to protect people against the virus.
The tweet has not gone down well with large parts of the internet, with former pro basketball player Rex Chapman penning: "This is monstrous. Dikembe fought hard for the past year. He died from brain cancer. He lived beyond an honorable life."
Another user commented: "Dikembe was a father, a husband; I pray they don't see Rob's vile post."
Someone else added: "I never listen to people who's own children hate them. There is usually a good reason."

A final resolved: "A good man. A great player. Always did so much for his fellow man. He will be missed. Shame on Schneider for dragging his name into his anti-science crusade."
UNILAD has reached out to Schneider's representatives for comment.
Mutombo had quite the basketball career, after an impressive 18 years in the sport.
Playing for the likes of 76ers, Nets, Knicks and Rockets before retiring from the court in 2009, Mutombo was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
