Prior to featuring in 2010's Grownups, Hayek had always been deemed ‘too sexy’ for comedy roles by executives.
“I was typecast for a long time,” she explained to British GQ, adding: “My entire life I wanted to do comedy and people wouldn’t give me comedies.”
But with Grownups, Hayek finally landed her dream part.

“I couldn’t land a role until I met Adam Sandler, who put me in a comedy [2010’s Grown Ups], but I was in my forties!”, she added to British GQ.
"They said, ‘You’re sexy, so you’re not allowed to have a sense of humour’ ... Not only are you not allowed to be smart, but you were not allowed to be funny in the 90s.”
Hayek's impressive career has earned her an estimated net worth of $200 million, and on top of that, she's married to a French billionaire.
Despite this, Hayek admitted in a recent interview how she feels 'pressure' to make money.
