Scarlett Johansson made a rare four-word comment on her feelings for ex-husband Ryan Reynolds 12 years after the pair divorced.
We invite you to cast your mind back to 2008. Twilight and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight hit cinemas, Britney Spears made her iconic comeback, and Barack Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States.
The same year, Hollywood icons Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in Vancouver, Canada.

The pair, who got engaged four months before exchanging their vows, were actually only married for two years before announcing their separation and finalizing their divorce in 2011.
Since then, both actors have gone on to marry again, with the Green Lantern actor saying ‘I do’ to Gossip Girl star Blake Lively in 2012 and Johansson marrying twice more, Romain Dauriac in 2014 and Saturday Night Live favorite Colin Jost in 2020.
Despite their divorce being public knowledge, both Marvel stars have remained fairly tight-lipped about this old romance (at least publicly) and don’t tend to speak about it much.

However, the topic did come up during Johansson's appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow's The goop Podcast in 2023.

With the conversation moving on partners and marriage, Paltrow said she couldn't believe Johansson used to be with the Deadpool star.
"Oh that's right, because I forgot that you were married to Ryan Reynolds!" Paltrow said, before adding: "Goals!"

Laughing, Johansson clarified that it was a short-lived romance.
"We weren’t married very long, but we were when I first met you, for Iron Man [2] or whatever,” she said.
Paltrow went on: "We love a good Ryan Reynolds in our house."
In agreement, Johansson said: “He’s a good guy.”

Amid their separation, the former couple released a joint statement, remarking: “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage.

"We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated."
One positive to come out of their divorce, though, for Johansson at least, is that she never had to watch her husband get mashed potato eaten out of his butthole. That spectacle was left for Lively to enjoy.

Well, kind of, I mean, movies are real, right?
I guess it half comes with the territory of being with Reynolds as the funny man is not one to shy away from the most ridiculous of comedic moments.
