Sister Wives star Kody Brown is converting to monogamy

Sister Wives star Kody Brown is converting to monogamy

Sister Wives star Kody Brown has said he's converting to a monogamy relationship with his wife Robyn.

TV personality and Sister Wives star Kody Brown says he is converting to monogamy, abandoning polygamy in the process.

For those not in the know, polygamy refers to a marriage with more than one spouse at a time, while monogamy refers to the more traditional approach of marriage to a single person.

Kody's relationship with three of his former wives broke down in a short period.

In November 2021, Kody announced he had split up from his third wife, Christine, after more than 25 years together.

Two more breakups came a little over a year later, as Kody split with wife Janelle and his first wife, Meri, in December 2022.

Right now, Robyn, 45, is Kody's sole and legal wife - something the reality TV star would have never expected a few years ago.

Despite that, Kody is now focusing on making it work with his one remaining wife as they embark on a monogamous relationship.

In a new interview, Kody sat down with Robyn and host Sukanya Krishnan on a recent edition of Sister Wives: One on One.

The TV star said he 'wouldn't be interested' in welcoming another sister into the relationship and embarking on a polygamous situation once more.

"I would have to tell that woman I will never love you as much as I love her - now I know better," Kody told Robyn.

Janelle then said of Kody: 'He's now talking more and more about, 'As we move forward into monogamy.' So, I think that's where he's headed."

She then went on to say that she didn't predict Kody and Robyn would seek other sister wives, adding Kody and Robyn appear 'very happy' with the direction their family is heading.

"I do not foresee it. If I did, I'll bet you $1,000 right now and you come find me. If he does, I will give you $1,000."

"[They] have found something together at this stage of their life that seems to be very deep," Janelle added.

"I think it works - and that's OK."

However, Robyn did not seem as convinced by the status of her relationship, saying it would be 'weird' to proceed with a singular marriage considering all parties joined forces in a polygamous relationship.

"To be loving and respectful to Kody, I want to say yes but I just don't know how this works exactly," she said.

"It's weird - I feel like it's disrespectful."
