The Boys' star Jack Quaid has opened up about what he thinks of the term 'nepo baby' and his response has received widespread praise online.
Multiple celebrities have hit out at being branded a 'nepo baby', including the likes of Emma Roberts and Willow Smith. However, Jack Quaid - who's starred in the likes of 2012's The Hunger Games, Oppenheimer and most recently The Boys - has a different response to the title.
Quaid's breakout role was in The Hunger Games in which he starred as a contestant called Marvel from District One and he's since gone on to star in Scream (2022), Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) - as the voice of Peter Parker himself - Oppenheimer (2023) and is currently taking on the role of Hugh 'Wee Hughie' Campbell in The Boys.

But Quaid's road to success has been interrogated by film and TV lovers, particularly given his mom is Meg Ryan - think of the iconic movies which are When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail and Top Gun. Oh, and his dad is Dennis Quaid - The Parent Trap, The Long Game and The Day After Tomorrow.
And in an episode of The Daily Beast's The Last Laugh podcast, Quaid responded to being called a 'nepo baby' and it's implication that given his parents are both in the industry, he had advantageous connections over other actors.
Quaid admitted he's 'inclined to agree' with being slapped with the title.

He explained: "I am an immensely privileged person, you know. I was able to get representation pretty early on and that's more than half the battle.
"I knew the door was open for me in a lot of ways that it's just not for a lot of actors and I've just tried to work as hard as I possibly can to prove that I deserve to walk through that door."
Quaid reflects if this means he enters into the rom-com space - of which both his parents are notorious for - it means 'it's got to be different enough' and he has to 'work his a** off'.
"Not that I don't for other things," he adds. "But I gotta be good."

And people are flooding to social media in praise of Quaid's response to the labeling.
One Twitter user wrote: "1. It's literally this easy and 2. He's such a good actor too so those opportunities weren't wasted."
"Finally! a normal grown up response. thank you jack quaid, thank you," another added.

A third commented: "Thank you Jack, very well said and truthful. [...] Nothing is more irritating than nepo-babies trying to tell you how hard it was for them instead of just telling the truth like Jack did."
And a fourth resolved: "Finally a reasonable nepo baby. we are tired of the nepo baby discourse though."
So, what do you think?
