Vanessa Hudgens calls out paparazzi for disrespecting her 'privacy'

The High School Musical star has confirmed that she's given birth as she slammed the paparazzi for taking photos of her

Vanessa Hudgens has hit out at the paparazzi after they took photographs of her leaving hospital.

The High School Musical and The Princess Switch star announced at this year's Oscars that she was expecting her first child and has since given birth.

The name and gender of her child is yet to be revealed, but in a new post shared to Instagram, Hudgens confirmed that she, her baby and her husband Cole Tucker are 'happy and healthy'.

Elsewhere in the post, she berated the paparazzi for taking photos of her leaving hospital.

In the photos, the star is seen being escorted out in a wheelchair while holding her newborn child, who was wrapped up in a blanket. Baseball star Tucker wasn't far behind them.

"We're disappointed that our family's privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long lens camera feeding the media," Hudgens, 35, wrote.

"Despite all of that, mom dad and baby are health and happy," she added.

The arrival of her bundle of joy seems to have come just days before baseball star Tucker's own birthday.

Hudgens took to social media yesterday (July 4) to pay tribute to her husband of seven months.

"Happy birthday to my slice of heaven @cotuck," she wrote. "You make the world a brighter place just by being you."

Tucker turned 28 on Wednesday, 3 July.

Ahead of Hudgens giving birth, her ex-boyfriend and former High School Musical co-star Zac Efron gushed about what a good mother she'll be.

Discussing both Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale expecting at the same time, Efron told Access Hollywood: "Oh they're going to be the best moms ever, those girls. Are you kidding me? Oh my gosh, we're going to have some fun family reunions coming up."

Hudgens recently starred in the new Bad Boys: Ride or Die movie and at the time expressed her excitement about her children one day seeing her films.

"I'll show my kids all my work," the 35-year-old told E! News.

"That's why I chose things along the way in my career. I wanted to make sure that when I did have kids, there would be something for them to watch at every age."

Her new addition is both her and husband Tucker's first child together.
