Wendy Williams has spoken out about the facility she's currently within demanding her 'freedom back'.
In 2022, the former US talk show host's financial advisor claimed she was of 'unsound mind' and her bank accounts were frozen before she was placed under a temporary financial guardianship.
In 2024, a statement was released on behalf of Williams announcing she'd been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia in 2023 and had become 'cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated,' her appointed guardian's lawyers said.
On January 16 earlier this year, in conversation with The Breakfast Club, Williams said she'd been admitted to a 'wellness center' by her guardian against her will.

And in documentary TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy, Williams, 60, opened up about the facility.
When asked what her life has been like the past year, Williams said: "Isolated. Where I am is this place where, the people are older, you know what Im saying? They are in their 90s, in their 80s.
"I eat lunch and dinner in my bed - I don't eat out there with the people who live here because it's so God damn depressing.
"There's a bathroom, there's a closet, there's a TV which was purchased by me through the guardian person."

Williams also claims she's 'not allowed to go out' and she can call others but they 'can't call' her,

Williams said she asked her guardian for her phone back to call her family and friends, alleging her friends aren't allowed to come and visit her either.
Williams claims she's only been able to spend two days outside in the fresh air within the last 30 days.

However, Black America Web reports she is actually permitted to leave her assisted living facility.
Williams' family told PEOPLE they don't know where the former TV host is and can't call her but she's allowed to call them.

TMZ reports a judge in the case said: "The guardian, [...] is to permit Wendy as much independence as is practical."

Williams resolved: "The system has failed. The system has failed from top to bottom regarding this guardian and everyone involved with that. The system has failed. I want my freedom back, how about that?"
Sources reportedly told TMZ Williams is set to be seen by a doctor next week who will re-evaluate her in a bid to eventually have her guardianship ended.
TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy is available to watch on Tubi.
UNILAD has contacted Williams' court-ordered guardian Sabrina Morrissey for comment.
