Selena Gomez has shared the reason why she followed fellow singer Dua Lipa on Instagram.
Gomez got chins wagging over the summer after fans spotted that she unfollowed 'Dance The Night' hitmaker Lipa, 28, on the social media platform.
This sparked some to believe that the pair may have had a falling out that lead to Gomez, 31, to unfollow her

Around the same time, Gomez unfollowed One Direction's Zayn Malik, as well as modelling sisters Bella and Giga Hadid.
In fact, while Gomez has a staggering 430 million followers - making her officially the most followed woman on Instagram - she only follows 263 people herself.
Some famous faces that she keeps track of include Zendaya, Zoe Saldana, Only Murders in the Building co-star Jesse Williams, and even her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber's wife, Hailey.

Notably, Gomez is now following Barbie star Lipa again, and insisted that what initially looked like a catty unfollow was actually a mistake.
"It was an accident!" she told Fast Company when asked about the speculation. "I was just cleaning up some of my Instagram. Then somebody called me and was like, ‘What happened with Dua?!'"
In what appeared to be an olive branch, Gomez later posted a picture on Instagram of her wearing Lipa's line with fashion house Versace.

She captioned the snap where the 31-year-old was seen in a black and white polkadot ensemble with butterfly detailing: "A little Versace/Dua moment."
Lipa replied to the post writing 'angeeeeeeeel!!!!' followed by a string of lovestruck emojis.
Elsewhere, Donatella Versace labelled Gomez as 'stunning'.
Gomez's so-called feud with Lipa comes after the star was also forced to refute claims that she was at loggerheads with Hailey Bieber earlier this year.

Gomez' fans believed Bieber and close pal Kylie Jenner had mocked Gomez over her eyebrows, sparking them to both receive a lot of criticism.
Bieber in particular got the brunt of his and even received death threats from people, sparking her to reach out to Gomez.
The former Disney star then called of her fans and followers to stop with the negativity.

"Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity," she wrote on Instagram.
"This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying."
Gomez added: "I've always advocated for kindness and really want all this to stop."
Bieber went on to thank her husband's ex for sticking up for her.
