It's the sort of thing you might dream of when you're at college—that a celebrity crashes a party.
But for one fraternity at the University of Southern California this became a reality when Anchorman star Will Ferrell turned up to DJ.
A video has emerged online of Ferrell spinning the decks at the party wearing a sports jacket, backwards cap, and sunglasses like his character Frank the Tank from the movie Old School.

His appearance at the party got people wondering how on earth someone like Will Ferrell ended up doing at a college frat party?
Well, Ferrell's son Magnus, 19, is actually a student at the University of Southern California.
In an episode of The Lightweights podcast, Magnus revealed that he and his roommate both DJ, and had asked his celebrity dad to make a surprise appearance at a party - which he was happy to oblige.
He said: “Me and my roommate, we both DJ, and I was like, ‘hey, would you like to just come and DJ for us?’ And he was like, ‘yeah, sure'."

The visit had also happened during parents' weekend at the college, and the party had a bit more going on than what you might usually expect.
Magnus said: “It’s also the craziest one of the year because they kind of let everybody in, so security’s pretty loose, and we have a second deck.”
This included opening up the DJ booth for anyone who wanted to spin the decks at a party.

Magnus said: “And normally, you’re not allowed to go up there for, like, registered parties, but since it’s Parents Weekend, they open that up and it was packed shoulder to shoulder.”
Saying whether his dad actually knows what he's doing on the decks, Magnus laughed and jokingly replied: “Sure, let’s just say that he does.”
It's not the only appearance that the Lego Movie star has made at the University of Southern California in recent years.

The star made a guest appearance at the college back in 2017 when he gave a commencement speech after receiving an honorary doctorate.
Ferrell urged students to chase their dreams, saying: "Many a night where, in my L.A. apartment, I would sit down to a meal of spaghetti topped with mustard with only $20 in my checking account.
"I was afraid. You're never not afraid. I'm still afraid.
"But my fear of failure never approached the magnitude of a fear of 'What if? What if I never tried at all?'"
