The former America’s Got Talent host shared that he went full ‘Nicholas Sparks’ when he met Carey - trying to woo her by filling a building with roses and renting out the Four Seasons.
He added that he printed out 365 days’ worth of love notes he’d texted her and cemented them into a book for their one-year anniversary.
The couple wed on the singer’s private estate on Windermere Island in the Bahamas in 2008.

In 2011, Carey gave birth to fraternal twins Moroccan and Monroe; however, three years later, Cannon filed for divorce.
He said that things became so dire that he likened their relationship to ‘Trump and Putin living in the same house’.
He added: “It wasn’t even about her and I — we’ve always been good.
"It was more about us understanding that instead of making it about our relationship and what I want or what you want, we should just do what’s best for the children.”

On a recent episode of The Jason Lee Show podcast, the 42 year old also revealed where he stands with the ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ singer following their separation.
He said that Carey is fine with him having kids with multiple baby mamas - for those of you playing at home, the comedian is now a father to 11 children - as long as he doesn’t bring the drama to her doorstep.
“She high frequency, man. She always asks me, ‘You aight? You good? How you doing? You handling it all?’” he began.

“She’s like, as long as you don’t bring none of that bulls**t to the Manor of Carey.
“Like, she lives in her own world, nothing can infiltrate that stuff.
"When we talk daily, she’s just checking on my spirit.”
Cannon also proceeded to shut down rumors that the singer was seeking full custody of their children.

“It’s, like, people create low-frequency messages to try and say that there’s something wrong,” he explained.
“So, she encourages and me. She’s like, ‘Yo, let’s make sure we on the same page every day.'”
