Year after year the majority of humanity continues to age; gaining wrinkles, grey hairs and knee pains. Vera Wang is not one of those people.
Instead, she's part of an elite group who have managed to escape the effects of time and ageing; meaning that when their birthday rolls around every year the rest of us just can't help but express our shock. Paul Rudd is also part of this group, if you were wondering.
The fashion designer turned 73 on Monday (27 June) and celebrated with an image of herself posted on Instagram in which she was holding a Vera Wang-branded bottle of prosecco.

Wang was dressed immaculately in a pink gown and tiara with matching pink streaks in her hair. Alongside the image, she wrote: “Celebrating my Bday with CAKES and KARAOKE…… and my new ROSÉ PROSECCO!!!!!!#VeraWangParty.”
Fans were quick to flood Wang’s comments section with birthday wishes, though many also used the opportunity to once again confirm that they couldn’t believe she was past her 50s, let alone 73.
Many fans have begged the fashion designer to share her secrets for avoiding the typical signs of ageing, with one writing: “Happy birthday. gosh share your secret please you look like your 30”

Another took a guess at what the solution could be, writing: “Happy bday, you always look so amazing and young, is it the Rosé?”
Though Wang’s impressive looks are a common topic of conversation around her birthday, the star has previously told BBC News she ‘never thought about going way out of [her] way to preserve youth’.
After a photo of the then-72-year-old went viral during lockdown, Wang admitted she was ‘shocked’ at the response and said she didn’t think of herself as being ‘risqué’ as she posed in a crop top.

“It’s nice that people thought that about me. It’s very complimentary and I’m very grateful for that,” she said.
Wang noted she has previously been asked about her ‘secrets’, and revealed that one of them is getting a good amount of sleep. She also ‘values having a vodka cocktail at the end of the day’ as it allows her to find a balance between her work and personal life.
Though sleeping and drinking cocktails are activities a lot of people could get on board with, Wang also found that her work as a designer and working with models was the ‘magic elixir’ that helped her with ageing.
The tricks might not work for everyone, but it’s clear by now that they’ve worked for Wang. That doesn’t mean we’ll stop being impressed, though.
