Rumer spoke about her approach to choosing a name for her baby in an interview with People.
She said: "I come from a family where I'm named Rumer, and my sisters are Scout and Tallulah, so I knew that I wanted something interesting, unique, and different. Thankfully, my partner was super down.
"But then there's a part of me too, that I feel like I have to see [the baby]. It's such a weird sensation where you're like, 'I love this kid, this little person so much, but I don't necessarily know them, so I have to see who they are and see if that fits'."
Rumer opened up online about her pregnancy journey in the third trimester - week 27 of pregnancy - speaking of her plans to do pelvic floor exercises to prepare for an unmedicated birth.

While she hasn't revealed any details about the birth, the 34-year-old re-shared an Instagram post by sleep specialist Taylor Kulik to her story earlier this week.
The post reads: "It is the most normal thing in the world to want to be responsive to your baby and support them with sleep. It is also the most normal thing in the world for your baby to want to be close to you and need your support."
The post goes on to discuss some people in society's unintentional gaslighting of new parents when it comes to their baby's sleep cycle.
Kulik writes: "They are fearful that if they don’t use non-responsive sleep training techniques (that they are uncomfortable with), they will ruin their baby or fail to teach them necessary skills.
"They’re told sleep training is easy and necessary and works for all babies, and when it doesn’t work for their baby, the parents are blamed leading to guilt and often unstable mental health on the parents’ end.
"This is causing significant harm to new parents, and it needs to stop."
