Simon Cowell was quick to judge an America’s Got Talent contestant based on their appearance this week, which seems brazen coming from a man who wears his trousers around his ears.
Thankfully, supermodel Heidi Klum was quick to put the music mogul in his place, pointing out that uniqueness is a wonderful trait.
Cowell made the comments to contestant Freckled Zelda, who described themselves as a ‘music fairy’ when stepping on stage, leaving the judge looking sceptical. Watch Freckled Zelda's audition below:
After a bit of back and forth with the judging panel, Freckled Zelda got down to it and belted out a wicked rendition of Colours of the Wind.

While Cowell admitted that he’d been impressed by Freckled Zelda’s voice, he couldn’t help but quip: “I tell you what, when you walked out, I thought this really is going to be terrible - I did."
He added: “But actually you’ve got a really good voice. I don’t like the instrument, don’t think it’s necessary. Carry on looking like that if you want, because you’re interesting."
However, Klum shut down his remarks, telling Freckled Zelda: “I thought the potato flute was really cool and I love that you are unique and different."

She added: "America’s Got Talent is a variety show, and we don’t all have to be the same."
It seems AGT viewers were in agreement with Klum, with many taking to social media to share their support for Freckled Zelda.
One person tweeted about the singer’s performance: “Freckled Zelda is such a f******g inspiration and seeing her on AGT makes me feel even more motivated to express myself in the way I want.”
Another added: “Freckled Zelda is a wonderful singer. I hope she makes it to the finals,” while a third said: “Freckled Zelda really put a smile on my face with her audition!!! I really like her and her vibe so much.”

A fourth penned: “Freckled Zelda is amazing! Thank you for bringing your magical fairy self to agt” and a fifth added: “Wow… I didn’t see that coming. She killed it‼ Freckled Zelda issa straight up walking Disney soundtrack all by herself.”
Klum even took to Twitter on Wednesday (27 July) to gush about Freckled Zelda, writing: “Love love love your voice, your originality AND your potato flute Freckled Zelda … you nailed it.”
