Taron Egerton has spoken out after he collapsed on stage during the opening night of Mike Bartlett's 2009 play Cock.
Yesterday, March 5, the Rocketman star fainted on stage during his debut performance at London's Ambassadors Theatre.
Egerton's co-stars are said to have stopped the performance and the safety curtain went down, as the audience waited for an update on his health.

The actor has since taken to Instagram to update fans on the situation.
Egerton posted a screenshot from his notes app to his stories confirming to followers that he had 'passed out' during his performance.
He reassured fans: 'I am completely fine. Slightly sore neck and a bruised ego but I'm fine'.

The actor went on to say he would like to put a 'positive spin' on the situation and for audience members to say he gave such a 'committed, electrifying performance that my body couldn't handle it and checked out'.
Egerton continued to thank his team and cast mates, in particular, his understudy and 'amazing actor' Joel Harper-Jackson who took his place for the remainder of the play.
According to audience members, a doctor from the crowd rushed to help Egerton, which was followed by a 40-minute break in which the production team decided next steps, as per the Independent.

Following the break, director of the play Marianne Elliott came out to reassure the audience that Egerton was 'absolutely fine' and that his understudy Joel Harper-Jackson would take his place for the remaining 15 minutes of the play.
Cock premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in 2009 and follows the story of John who 'takes a break from his boyfriend, [and] accidentally meets the girl of his dreams'.

In a post on February 10, Egerton told fans: 'Three weeks into rehearsing for @cocktheplayldn and having the best time.'
'I knew it would be hard work preparing for COCK but I had no idea COCK would be so much fun. You can come and see COCK from March 5th to June 4th; come along and I promise you too will love COCK', he added.
Cock is showing at the Ambassadors Theatre until June 4.
