Disturbing footage on September 11 2001 has shown a group of students’ reaction to seeing the collapse of the World Trade Center.
The terrorist attack on American soil on 9/11 can be hard to imagine in the modern age.
People, society and technology has come a long way since 2001 and for many adults now they weren’t even alive when the attack happened, let alone remember it.

On September 11, 2001, four planes were hijacked by terrorists who flew two into the Twin Towers in New York and one into the Pentagon - killing almost 3,000 people and injuring thousands.
This has long been considered the most deadly attack on American soil and has remained in the American consciousness ever since that fateful day.
Due to the fact people simply didn’t have access to the technology we have in the modern era, there isn’t nearly the same amount of video footage available compared to if the attack happened today.

However, a brief video recording by a group of students in an apartment block only a few blocks away from the towers in Manhattan, New York City, shows their reaciton.
The clip has regularly circulated on social media with many stunned at the reaction from the young people.
The clip, shared on Reddit on the /Damnthatisinteresting board, showed the students starting the video after the south tower had been struck by a plane before it had collapsed.
When the massive skyscraper begins to crumble and collapse, the students begin screaming with one of them repeatedly screaming ‘oh my God’.

The person recording can also be heard: “That is so chilling. It looked like a monster, like something out of a horror movie. There is just this massive dust cloud consuming everything in its path.”
On the Reddit thread, many user began discussing their own experiences of the attack and reflected on the day.
“I was in high school and the only teacher that let us watch it live on the news was my economics teacher. He said we were experiencing history and needed to see it. I remember everyone was really quiet that day,” one user wrote.

“I was 8 and I had just woken up and was walking downstairs and my parents were just glued to the TV. I didn't know what was going on but I remember the mood in the house being completely dour for the entire day,” another added.
“I was 13. Our school was in some weird lockdown and we didn’t know why. We were finally sent home after not working for 2 hours. Mom told me and we watched the news. It was horrifying to see and I remember thinking it was weird to see something so catastrophic happening in real time.” a third wrote.
