Man uses ChatGPT to teach robot how to see and people think 'humanity is doomed'

Social media users have come to terms with the seeming end of the world after watching a clip of a ChatGPT controlled robot and its capabilities.

Admittedly, technology does move very quickly - too quickly, some might say.

AI has been steadily on the rise and it has a few people concerned - with Elon Musk revealing how 'uncomfortable' he is with the huge advancements.

And now, one Reddit user has scared multiple social media users by showcasing his own robot - which can see it's surroundings.

The user, known on Reddit as MrRandom93, posted the video of the robot to two boards, r/ChatGPT and r/nextf**kinglevel.

They captioned the video: “My ChatGPT controlled robot can see now and describes the world around him.”

And although the title sounds adorable enough, it is both frightening and impressive how capable the robot, named ‘Rob’, is.

Meet Rob.

During the clip, he asks the robot to identify what he is holding in his hand - which is an old brick Nokia phone.

To which the robot replies: “Image analysis identifies a human forearm extended towards a digital device, a display screen in a low-lit indoor environment.”

He then praises the machine for being a 'good robot', who promptly thanked the Reddit user and joked he had made his 'circuits blush'.

While it is quite a cute video, people were adamant that this was very much a sign of the end of times.

“Humanity is officially doomed,” one commented.

Rob is then asked to identify what he is holding in his hand.

“This is where it starts. One day we’ll look back at this and think, why didn’t I yeet that little s*** out the window when I had the chance!?,” another joked.

“It's like a movie from the 80s, some nerd makes a quippy robot in his basement that falls in love with his wife and ends up taking over the city traffic grid before moving onto military satellites and s***." someone else added.

"Welp, nice knowing you guys I guess.”

A fourth had a The Simpsons reference locked and loaded, joking: “I for one am happy to accept the awakening of our new overlords and hope that some skill I have may prove useful to the collective so I'm not used as biomass fuel.”

“Yep. Unregulated use of untested technology designed to learn and improve upon itself. Good thing is that it is at its early stages and I will die of old age before it becomes an actual threat." a fifth said, adding: "Good luck kiddos.”

Yeah, good luck dealing with this in the future, kiddos.
