A waitress at a Hooters restaurant in the US has left TikTok users stunned after sharing how many tips she made while celebrating her birthday.
With all of the tipping rules, expectations and etiquette out there, it can be easy to forget that sometimes it's nice to leave a bit of extra cash simply because you want to make a good worker happy.
This is true on any day of the year, but arguably even more so when the worker is celebrating their birthday.

TikTok user and Hooters waitress Savannah, from the US, had her special day this month and made sure to make the most of it by celebrating for the entire week.
While she had her birthday itself off work, she did have shifts in the days surrounding her birthday and wore a sash to allow customers to join in with the celebrations... and potentially also encourage a few extra gifts in the form of tips.
Hooters waitresses are known to make some serious cash from tips, but TikTokers were still impressed by what Savannah took home.

She made clear that she was 'very vocal each day' about the fact she wasn't working her 'exact birthday', but she said 'no one cared' that she was a few days out.
"Everyone told me to wear the sash as long as I could… so I did," she wrote.
Savannah documented her earnings in a series of clips posted in a video on TikTok on Sunday (January 28), counting out her cash for the camera each day.

The first shift she worked wearing her birthday sash was the previous Sunday, when she counted a total of $272 in tips.
Not bad for a day's work, is it?
The waitress was forced to miss out on a day of tips after getting sick during one of her shifts, but she was back on Tuesday to earn another $121 in cash.
Her third and final 'birthday' shift came on Friday, when she earned $178.

Savannah noted that she ended up being sent home early on her final shift, so she 'probably would have made more' if she'd worked the whole day.
But while Savannah didn't earn quite as much as she might have expected, viewers were blown away by the amount she did earn, which totalled $571.

"I swear I work at the wrong place," one viewer wrote after watching the waitress add up her tips, while another added: "You earn more [than] when I work a week."
A number of commenters questioned how they could get jobs at Hooters after seeing Savannah's video - it actually seems like the hiring managers might have their work cut out for them!
