A rare heartwarming video coming out of the devastating Los Angeles fires shows the moment a man who lost his home is reunited with his pet dog.
Casey Colvin is one of the many people to have lost their home in the Palisades Fire, which has been burning for a week and is only 13 percent contained, according to the latest figures from Cal Fire.
Hundreds of thousands of people were forced to leave behind their homes and possessions, but over the weekend, Colvin returned to what was left of his property as he hoped to track down his dog, Oreo.

Colvin's story came to light after he met NBC News correspondent Liz Kreutz on the first day of the fire, when Colvin was trying to get back into his house to retrieve his two dogs, Oreo and Tika Tika Tika.
Colvin had been at work when the wildfire evacuation order went out, and by the time he made it back to his street, it was deemed too dangerous for him to go inside.

A firefighter at the scene was able to go into the property and find Tika Tika Tika, but Oreo ran away from the home.
Though Colvin's home was burned to the ground in the blaze, a friend spotted Oreo out on the street and managed to take a photo which showed he was still alive.
Colvin put up posters in the area to try and gain information about Oreo's whereabouts, and with the help of a dog tracker, he finally managed to find Oreo on Sunday (January 12).

Kreutz described how Oreo had been sleeping in the rubble left behind by the fire before he was reunited with Colvin.
The heartwarming footage shows the adoring owner standing at the edge of the disaster site and calling for Oreo, who comes running down the driveway.
Sharing the video to Instagram, Kreutz wrote: "The moment he saw Casey he came running."

Colvin grabs Oreo and begins whooping and cheering over their reunion, with viewers describing the video as 'amazing'.
"Such an amazing strong story here filled with nothing but absolute LOVE," one viewer wrote.
Colvin noted that if the firefighter on the scene on the first day of the fire hadn't offered to go back inside to look for the dogs, both Tika Tika Tika and Oreo would have been trapped inside as his home burned down.
