TikTok users have been left baffled after watching what happened when a man made the bizarre decision to rub squid ink all over his hands and arms.
People rely on all sorts of lotions and potions to make their skin look good these days, but most of the time these products have been carefully crafted and boxed up, ready to take years off your age or give you that healthy glow you've always wanted.
Less often do people get their products straight from the source - and even more rarely is that source a literal squid.

But on the off chance you were thinking about dabbing a bit of squid ink on your skin just to see what properties it might possess, I'd urge you to think twice.
That's because one man who did give it a go quickly came to regret it.
In a video shared on the @youfishtv TikTok page, fisherman Brendan Wing showed what state his skin was in five days after he removed an ink sac from a squid and proceeded to rub it all over his skin and arms.

Wing carried out the bizarre move to highlight how concentrated the ink was, but little did he know it would impact him for days to come.
In a follow-up video, Wing explained that his 'biggest mistake' was letting the ink dry, leaving a 'crust' on his skin.
"I'm hoping it'll come off in the next few days," he said in the TikTok.
Later, Wing told followers the ink was 'starting to show signs of wear' between his fingers, but for the most part his hands and arms were still completely covered in the inky substance.

"I reckon within a week or two it should be off me," he added.

Wing's story is definitely a good cautionary tale for anyone who might find themselves having intrusive thoughts around a container of squid ink - though some indicated they were actually impressed by just how resilient it was.
"Would a squid ink tattoo work," one person asked, as another joked: "This would be great for my brows, does it come in a dark brown?”
For the most part, however, viewers were shocked Wing had decided to spread the ink all over himself in the first place.

“’That's crazy that's crazy don't do it’ *proceeds to do it anyway*," one person wrote under Wing's original video.
Following up, another added: "It will wear off eventually as he sheds skin cells. Take about a month. He won’t do that again."
Here's hoping Wing learned his lesson!
