Imagine having a tattoo permanently etched onto your body, only to discover that it actually has another meaning.
This is what happened to one man, who decided to get a tribute to his favorite TV show tattooed on his calf, only to find out later that it also means something quite different.
As a nod to Psych - a TV series that ran between 2006 and 2014 - one Reddit user had a pineapple tattooed on his leg, with a banner reading 'I know you know'.

The comedy drama followed Shawn Spencer (played by James Roday Rodriguez) a detective who convinces people he has psychic abilities.
The show often referenced pineapples, a quirk which came from the pilot episode of the series in which Roday improvised a scene with the fruit.
Dulé Hill, who played Gus in the show, later explained that the scene demonstrated that Roday could work with whatever was around him.

It was originally just a prop, but soon there was a pineapple in nearly every episode.
As a huge fan of the show, it therefore made sense that the Reddit user would opt for a pineapple as a way of honoring Psych.
But unfortunately, it also has another meaning.

In fact, a pineapple (specifically, an upside down pineapple) is an emblem of a swinging lifestyle.
It's said that if a pineapple is placed outside someone's house, it apparently indicates that a 'swinging party' is going on inside.
Feeling like they needed to remove the tat and asking for cover up ideas, the Redditor wrote: "Long story short, it’s a Psych reference that I just love, but more than that it’s 100% a swinger thing (Oop).

"Didn’t realize it at the time, and my heart goes out to swingers, but sadly I’m not part of the lifestyle. Any help?
"Thinking of keeping the pineapple, but the words just need to go unfortunately."
Some people's suggestions were pretty funny, with one commenting: "Add 'that I am not a swinger' at the bottom."
And another added: "Honestly, just put the word Psych! next to it. It will show you are a fan of the show and any swingers checking out your calf will just think they got punked."

Others agreed that the quote makes it far more suggestive, with someone else commenting: "The quote makes it so much worse."
The original poster has since shared an update, writing: "It’s me, the OP. Thank you fellow Psych-O’s I will not be covering it up. Cmon son."
What would you do?
