Luxury cruises don't come cheap but neither do properties on the current housing market and one woman decided to up sticks and live a-sea instead.
With one person having relocated to a literal dump site amid the cost of living crisis to live as cheaply as possible, it's hardly a surprise that others are considering alternative living arrangements given how drastically prices have risen in the past few years.
Add in the typical British weather of constant, pissing rain and it's not exactly shocking to see why Mimi Bland decided to sell her house on land last year and, aged 59, commit to life on board a luxury residential cruise ship called MV Narrative.
And believe it or not, despite the cruise's luxury tag meaning it's pretty expensive to board, Mimi has revealed she's predicted it'll actually save her a pretty large wedge of money every year.

The cruise ship is currently set to set sail in 2026 and it's planned to travel around the world every three years, stopping at various ports across the globe along the way.
To fund her new adventure, Mimi sold her three bedroom home worth $637,000 located in the village of Farnham Common in the UK.
It won't be all living the high life on the ship though, as Mimi plans to work as a mindfulness mentor - although that is so much better than the stresses of modern day life in the UK, surely?

"I want to see the world while working and without ever leaving the comfort of my own home and meet lots of other ambitious people who are looking for a new life of excitement and fun," Mimi said.
“I am 60 next year and it is time for a re-set. I love my life helping highly successful executives to de-stress their lives and achieve a better work-life balance.
“But I realised that I needed to do that for myself and embark on an exciting new journey of adventure and discovery."
Mimi has also splashed out around $1 million to secure one of the luxury apartments on the MV Narrative, while a further $64,000 will be spent on all her meals on board and access to the facilities.

Despite that, she says she will be $25,000 a year better off on the liner, as the current cost of running her home and luxury lifestyle with car and up to five holidays a year is $89,000 a year.
Mimi has had a bit of a tough time in life, having split up with her husband over 20 years ago and not remarrying since.
The last three years have really been a turning point for herself, as she realised radical changes were needed.

She said: “I think we have all gone through a big change in the last three years and we have realised that many of us are lucky enough to be able to work from anywhere in the world.
“In my new life, the crew take care of everything and I get to run my business, see the world and meet other executives who are also looking to have a good time."
For those hoping to take a similar path in life, prices for suits on the liner start from $1 million and rise to up to $8 million for the most luxurious apartments.
