A compilation of clips showing the reality of life on the North Sea has quickly convinced people they wouldn't last a day in the treacherous environment.
Most people only go near the sea when there's a nice beach involved, or when the waves are tame enough that you can enjoy a leisurely boat trip.

The North Sea does have some nice coastlines, but this video hasn't been taken just off the coast.
Instead, it shows the realities of life way out to sea, where the waves really do not mess around.
A compilation of clips featuring videos from TikToker and Norwegian fisherman Benjamin Bakke (@benjamin_bakke on Instagram) show how the waves can cause chaos on board boats, throwing those on board around like toys.
One video shows Bakke being flung around his bathroom while trying to brush his teeth, while another shows him being thrown from side to side while trying to sleep in his narrow bed.

Those on board the ships are forced to try and grab on to anything secure to stop themselves falling, while crates and other objects fly around the boat around them.
Every scene looks like an accident straight off America's Funniest Home Videos, but it's less funny when you account for the fact that the crew have to deal with it as part of their daily lives.
The footage has shocked internet users watching safely from behind their screens, with one person sharing the compilation and writing: "I wouldn't last a day."

Dozens of Reddit users responded to share their horror after seeing the footage, with one commenting: "*ultra vomiting.* This looks absolutely miserable. You can get used to this???"
Another stunned person commented: "I'd wear a helmet and never take it off the entire voyage."
Other viewers have flooded Bakke's TikTok account with questions and comments, prompting the fisherman to offer further insight to his life at sea.

In response to one TikToker, Bakke explained that he's typically out to sea for two weeks at a time before returning to dry land.
He also pointed out that all the chaos he endures on the boat has an impact on land, as he shared a video of himself wobbling as he walked down a jetty and wrote: "Ever wondered why Jack Sparrow walks like this? [...] it's actually the product of his 'sea legs' - the capacity to balance and not get seasick while sailing."
Sea legs might be helpful on some occasions, but Bakke's videos prove that not even the best sea legs can help save you when it comes to trying to stay upright on the North Sea!
