If you've ever wondered whether a TikTok video could save your life, you might be surprised to learn an X-ray technician has been warned of what could've been a sign of cancer on the social platform.
An X-ray tech posting content about his fish tank on his TikTok profile was amazed to see one of his videos going viral, reaching 2 million views 'randomly'. However, he was even more shocked when people flocked to the comment section after spotting a white streak on one of his fingernails.

User Mr. Random (@Razzooz) published a clip seeing him trying to remove a razor blade from the side of his fish tank.
As some viewers spotted a white mark on his index's fingernail, they decided to take action and warn the X-ray tech the streak could be a sign of skin cancer.
After receiving comments urging him to get checked, @Razzooz thanked his followers and everyone else who reached out about his health in a follow-up video, revealing he works as an X-ray technician.
"Don't worry guys I'm sure it's nothing, but if it is... thank you tiktok for blowing up that random video, and thank yall for looking out," he wrote in the caption.

"Now you guys are awesome," he said in the clip.
"You guys noticed that I have this white streak on my fingernail and pointed out the fact that that could actually be a sign of skin cancer."
"I would like to thank you guys personally for bringing this to my attention," he continued.
"And I don't know what's funnier," he added.

"The fact that TikTok is the reason I found out about this or that I'm an X-ray tech," then revealing the index is the finger he uses to start the X-ray machine.
To be clear, Mr Random doesn't think there's a correlation between his job and the streak, as he wrote on Reddit: "It's not that's why it is just a coincidence. Though it is the closest part of my body to the actual xray scatter, so technically it does get the most dose. As a tech, I don't think my profession had anything to do with my finger pathology, cancerous or otherwise."

Mr Random seemed way more astonished that a 2-minute video on a fish tank could elicit such concerns from his fellow TikTokers.
"Without the algorithm pushing it to 2 million, I would not have gotten the comments bringing the nail to my attention," he wrote on Reddit.
"The whole thing is strange in a good way."
