A woman has divided opinion online after she complained about the way she was spoken to on a dating app.
Now, there are many elements of online dating that are totally unacceptable. From creepy messages to insults - and don't even get us started on unsolicited d**k pics - online dating can be a bit of a minefield.
But when this woman shut down one match after a brief conversation, people were surprised.

While some people agreed with the woman, others couldn't see her point of view at all.
Sharing a screengrab of the messages, she wrote: "Reasons why I don’t like to be nice to men."
The screengrab showed a short conversation, in which the man said he loved hockey and that he was a Detroit Red Wings fan.

The woman responded saying she was a Boston Bruins fan, and this is where the conversation took a nose dive.
The man responded: "Tough life," which seemed to confuse the woman who responded: "Lmao excuse me?"
"So many presidents cups yet so many first exits [sic]. Last cup was in 2010. Sad franchise," he said.

While some might have excused the chat as simply sports banter, the woman was pretty unimpressed with the insult to her local team.
One person wrote: "I thought this is always how sports people who like different teams interact?"
While another said: "I miss when conservative women would just find a boyfriend at church instead of going on the apps and getting confused when normal people treat women like human beings instead of a machine that you feed compliments into until you get what you want."
And a third added: "This just seems like an extremely normal attempt at banter like... she’s gonna find it hard if THIS is what’s offending her."

Others agreed, however, with one commenting: "I love setting men straight it's my fave pastime."

And another said: "He is wrong multiple times and then has the audacity to bring up the last Bruins’ Stanley Cup win when it’s been longer since the Red Wings won a cup."
To clarify the situation, the woman later added it was more about the man being 'rude' than her being offended.
"Didn’t think I would have to say this, but: it’s not about what team is better now or in the past, it is about the rude tone. We were just starting to talk, that was uncalled for," she said.
"I’m literally a Bruins fan, I’ve been told worse. I’m not offended, I promise lol."
