McDonald's is essentially the fast food king - yes I said it.
Whether its been a long day or a late night, everyone has got their go-to order.
Some fans of the franchise have insisted for years that their drinks, like Coca-Cola, is better than store bought as well.

All in all, it just seems to hit different - especially after an intense night-out.
While the Coke formula has been a sought-after recipe for decades, McDonald's has issued a statement addressing this popularly held opinion.
In a statement released in 2021, McDonalds said: “There are many reasons the Coca-Cola® tastes so great at McDonald’s.

"We simply follow the guidelines set by Coca-Cola® and take steps to ensure that we serve a high-quality fountain beverage.
“The water and Coca-Cola® syrup are pre-chilled before entering our fountain dispensers with the ratio of syrup set to allow for ice to melt.
"We also keep our fountain beverage system cold so your drink is always refreshing.

“In order to ensure our drinks are always meeting a gold standard, we filter all the water before it enters fountain dispensers."
But it's not just the mixing itself but also the size of the straw that makes it taste so good.
"It’s slightly wider than a typical straw so all that Coke® taste can hit your taste buds.” the statement continues.
So there you have it - but it's not just the Coca Cola that McDonald's fans have also claimed is better.

Personally, I can’t tell the difference from McDonald's ketchup and the normal Heinz I keep in the cupboard - yes cupboard not fridge.
But former McDonald’s chef Mike Haracz put that theory to bed in a recent TikTok video.
“Although that ketchup recipe looks delightful if you go on the McDonald’s website and look under their burgers and look at the ingredients statement of the ketchup that is on their burgers and compare that to Heinz ketchup it is almost identical,” Haracz said in his video.

“However, Heinz looks like it has some added ingredients to it, making it maybe more flavorful, I don’t know it is up to you to decide whether it’s better or not.
“But the ingredients statements are almost identical.
"And I guarantee neither of them are putting honey in their ketchup. Again, this recipe looks amazing.
“There really doesn’t seem to be a big difference between the McDonald’s ketchup used grill side and the regular Heinz ketchup recipe based on the ingredients statements.”
So maybe it is the placebo effect or the quantities of the ingredients is what gives it that distinctive taste - you decide.
