With summer right around the corner, it doesn’t hurt to ensure your travel plans go ahead without a hitch.

And one flight attendant has just the tips for that. Check it out:

When you get excited for a vacation, there's nothing more frustrating than things going wrong before you even arrive at your destination.

Even worse when things start to go wrong before you have even left the country.

Having issues at the airport on your way there or back can really start the trip on a sour note.

Well, a flight attendant has taken to social media to explain some simple mistakes to avoid so you can have the easiest start to your time off.

Caroline, who posts under the Instagram handle @xoblondevoyage, shared a short video on three mistakes people have often made and what to do instead.

She initially shared the video to her social media page in 2022, but as holiday season is quickly approaching, the clip has begun doing the rounds again.

So, what are these mistakes?

1. Not considering layover times

The Fort Lauderdale flight attendant said one of the easy mistakes people do when booking a flight is they do not consider the layover time, the time needed between changing flights on the same journey.

She explained it was better to give yourself a minimum of two hours or three hours if flying intentionally, allowing ample time to get through customs and security for the second leg of the flight.

You don’t want to be stressed and rushing from your flight and not make the next flight and then the one after is oversold,' she said.

2. Booking evening flights instead of early ones

Caroline also said a lot of people often opt for afternoon or evening flights, hoping that there are fewer delays as the day has gotten completely underway at the airport.

However, she recommended travelers book their flights as early as possible.

'I know you don’t want to wake up at 3 in the morning to catch a 5 am flight. But I promise you the earlier your flight is, the smoother everything is going to go,' she explained.

Quite an annoying tip but I guess it is better to go to bed early and get the stressful travel part out of the way.

3. Not using the airline's app

Caroline said travelers often make the mistake of not downloading the airlines app.

She claimed that it can make your travel journey much smoother, saying: 'It will help you out so much as you are traveling throughout the airport.'

'You can find out if there are any delays and get information on your connecting flight and which gate it is at. There is just so much information on them,' she concluded.

Just like a bunch of other apps, you can use it once and then get rid. Sounds good to me.
