An Orangutan went full 'what are you doing in my swamp?' after it 'evicted' an unwanted possum from its tree house.

Viewers were stunned by the viral footage taken at Perth Zoo in Australia on Saturday (9 September).

Watch below as the tiny possum gets brutally launched from an orangutan's nest:

Even though Perth Zoo is home to over 1,400 animals and 164 species, it seems that two different animals got into a bit of a scuffle.

One lonely possum perhaps opted for a change of scenery as it attempted to take 'advantage of the cosy warm orangutan nest during the cooler weather'.

However, the orangutan was not up for having any visitors and 'evicted' the possum from its nest.

Witnesses could be heard in the video shouting 'Oh my God'.

The person who filmed the incident told 7NEWS.com.au they 'didn’t think [the orangutan] would throw it like a frisbee'.

"It was thrown into another enclosure with 2 orangutans," they claimed.

"[The orangutan] was throwing the possum around on the ground at first, then chased it up the poll [sic] and started poking it with a stick."

Thankfully, a spokesperson from Perth Zoo revealed that the possum has been found in good health.

They said: "Our animal experts have confirmed that this possum took advantage of the cosy warm orangutan nest during the cooler weather, and on this occasion, the orangutan was alarmed to find an unknown occupant in their bed.

"Rest assured the possum was sighted scurrying off after being evicted. They are a very robust species."

The spokesperson added: "The orangutan habitat is an outside environment, and possums, who also live at height, just like the orangutans, have been known to inhabit the above ground territories.

"Whilst every effort is made to prevent them from entering, the sheer height provides some challenges and sometimes the orangutans evict the odd possum themselves."
