A male porn star has given some insight into what it's like working in the industry.
Sam Shock claims to have been in as many as 500 porno movies and, with that in mind, knows a fair bit about having a job in the adult industry.
Sam recently took to Reddit to open to floor to any questions that people might have for him.
"My name is Sam Shock and I have been doing professional porn and also creating my own content for 6 years now," he wrote.

"I’ve starred in everything from Brazzers to Naughty America. I now have my own porn production studio. Feel free to visit my page for links. AMA [Ask Me Anything]."
One person went on to ask: "Do you think the industry is more exploitative towards women? Do porn stars, both male and female, often get pressured into doing something they don't want to?"
"It depends on what you consider exploitation," Sam replied. "Personally i signed up for this, I knew exactly what I was getting into.

"So I don’t consider myself exploited. Unfortunately there are women who have pimps who definitely do that to them though."
Someone posed a similar question and wrote: "Have you ever felt genuine concern for your female co-stars? Have you witnessed trafficking situations? Has the potential for exploitation gotten better/worse in the industry? Are the women usually on drugs to be able to endure it?"
Sam went on to say that he's sadly seen some women 'fall down the slippery slopes unfortunately'.
He continued: "I’ve also known many women who have pimps in this line of work. I think those guys just learn new ways to manipulate women as technology evolves sadly.

"There are some heavy drug users but also many very clean cut girls who are truly professional with end goals."
While some women might have had experiences like this, famous porn star Nicole Aniston told UNILAD she's largely had a positive time in the industry.
"Some of the best parts of being in the adult film industry is the aspect of having a variety of experiences that you would never really have that add a lot of insight into human consciousness," she said.

Nicole went on to say that she's had 'very few bad days' on the job.
"Even if it's just a personality conflict (which it usually is), you can see that person is behaving a certain way because they're just sad, or traumatized, or fearful or whatever," she shared.
