A tourist has been slammed by many viewers on TikTok for gatecrashing a couple's proposal video in Iceland.

Obviously, life events such as proposals are very big deals and it goes without saying you'd want them to go as close to perfect as possible.

But this couple's romantic proposal was gatecrashed by an oblivious tourist who was wanting to take a few scenic snaps.

Jordan McGowan (@jordanemcgowan) posted a video on TikTok showing her boyfriend proposing to her in a scenic location overlooking a waterfall in Reykjavik, Iceland. Watch below:

The video - which was seemingly filmed by another tourist - was overshadowed by the unaware backpacker.

In the video, you see the man get down on one need getting ready to propose, with Jordan looking in complete shock.

But while the man asked his girlfriend to marry him, a tourist appeared out of nowhere in shot and even stepped over the man's foot to get a better picture of the waterfall.

Despite the gatecrashing, Jordan said yes and the pair embraced - but you guessed it, the complete oblivious tourist was still very much in view with her phone out.

A tourist, seemingly unwittingly, crashed the proposal.

Jordan wasn't angry with the tourist though, admitting that she even found the situation 'funny'.

She captioned the video with: "Honestly I find it funny, no harm done it's a laugh to watch."

The video has gone viral on TikTok with close to 500,000 views, 35,000 likes and close to 1,000 comments.

Even though Jordan found the funny side to it, many commenters were less understanding, with many slamming the tourist for 'ruining' the couple's moment.

One person said: "I understand culture barriers exist but …. That seems quite a universal thing NOT to do?! Beautiful backdrop though."

A second added: "You can’t convince me she didn’t do that on purpose."

The tourist was seen taking photos of the scenery during the entire proposal.

Others also thought the tourist gatecrashed on purpose: "She knew exactly what was happening and she did it on purpose." Another added: "That was absolutely on purpose, I’d have words."

Other TikTokers praised the bride-to-be for not reacting to the tourist, with one person saying they would be 'livid'.

But like Jordan, there were some viewers who found the funny side to the proposal video.

"I see the funny side but it's quite concerning how completely oblivious some people are to their surroundings," a person said.

Anyhow, we don't think this couple will be forgetting their proposal in a hurry!
