In a world dominated by car travel, finding space to park is one of the biggest headaches you can experience in your day-to-day life.
While everyone living in a car-centric area of the world is likely to experience this annoyance at some point, struggling to find parking near your own home seems especially brutal for the people who must endure it.
Such was the case for a Tennessee resident driving a dark red KIA Optima, who parked near their home on somebody else’s private property for several years despite a 'No Parking' sign being present near the spot.

Inevitably, when the sign did not stop the driver from parking on the private property, the property’s owner called a towing company to have the vehicle removed, much to the annoyance of the car’s owner.
The video in which the car is towed away from the location was uploaded to the Everything Autos YouTube channel in late March 2024 and features several phone calls between the towing company and the owner of the KIA Optima.
“That's my house there, I do live there, and also I do not have a parking space to put it,” said the concerned car owner upon their realization that the vehicle had been towed.

“I've been living here for three years.”
The car’s owner went on to explain that he had no place to park his 2014 KIA Optima on his own property, which led him to use a nearby parking space despite it having a sign warning him not to do so.
“I've got no space right now. I have one more car,” the car owner explained.

“Where should I park it? My car, it doesn't fit in the garage because it's too long.”
Ultimately, the tow truck driver stood his ground while on the phone with the angry motorist.
“The property owner has said that we needed to remove the stuff, they don't want anybody parking on their property anymore,” he said before adding: “You may need to pay one of the parking lots, pay to park down at the bottom [of the road].”
Many presume this was an act of revenge on the part of the property owner, who grew frustrated by the car being parked on their property for such a long time.

If revenge was the homeowner’s ultimate goal, they succeeded; The KIA owner was made to pay to retrieve his vehicle from the towing company.
While the exact amount was not disclosed to the public, the frustrated motorist responded to the sum he had to pay by saying it was 'a lot' at the tail end of his conversation with the tow truck driver.
