Hawk Tuah girl claims she will assist and cooperate 'legally' with fans 'losing life savings' from her cryptocurrency

Haliey Welch has broken her silence on social media

Hailey Welch, aka 'Hawk Tuah Girl' has issued a statement to say she'll 'cooperating' with a legal team to 'uncover the truth' following her cryptocurrency controversy.

Welch became a global sensation after a clip of her NSFW answer to 'what makes guys go crazy in bed' in June went viral, and by September, she was essentially a celebrity.

Having created her own podcast called Talk Tuah, she went on to attempt to venture out into different avenues, namely her own memecoin.

The coin, named $HAWK, was snapped up by a lot of people, some of whom had allegedly poured their 'life savings' into the cryptocurrency.

But it immediately failed and drastically dropped in value within just 20 minutes of its launch, going from as much as $490 million to just $41 million.

With such a loss for investors, ultimately Welch was sued.

A document filed to court claimed that the lawsuit 'arises from the unlawful promotion and sale of the Hawk Tuah cryptocurrency memecoin, known as the "$HAWK" token (the "Token" or "$HAWK"), which Defendants offered and sold to the public without proper registration'.

The Tuah The Moon Foundation, OverHere Ltd, and Clinton So, are all named in the lawsuit alongside the coin's promoter Alex Larson Schultz, however, Welch was not named.

Prior to this, Welch posted a copy-and-pasted message to her Twitter account, which said: "Hawkanomics: Team hasn’t sold one token and not 1 KOL was given 1 free token.

"We tried to stop snipers as best we could through high fee’s in the start of launch on @MeteoraAG. Fee’s [sic] have now been dropped."

Since then, Welch has issued another statement to her social media.

According to the influencer, she is now 'cooperating' with a legal team to help 'uncover the truth'.

She wrote: "I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community.

"I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter.

"If you have experienced losses related to this, please contact Burwick Law using the link below: https://www.burwick.law/newclient."

The team behind the cryptocurrency also issued their own statement, where they revealed the 'truth' about what happened.

They said: "We Only Built Airdrop Tech for Web2 Fans, for Free," it's statement began.

"We saw $HAWK as the perfect use case for our startup’s idea: to bring airdrops to web2.

"Hailey Welch—a literal meme—launching a meme coin felt like synchronicity.

"Our goal was simple: bring Web2 fans into Web3 seamlessly. A way to bring Web2 into crypto through culture, not just speculation.

"First of its kind. That's it. For free."

UNILAD contacted Haliey Welch's representatives for comment.
