It's not the first time IShowSpeed has taken on an Olympian at their own sport

Popular social media influencer has competed against a professional gymnast Frederick Richard in a six-foot jump and the result has left people shocked.

An Olympic athlete versus a streamer at their own event sounds like a bit of a stupid idea, as we can imagine who would come out victorious.

Well, Speed, real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr., is certainly not afraid to challenge athletes at their own sport - and he often leaves people shocked at the result.

Frederick ‘Flips’ Richard was left lost for words after Speed took on the athlete at a six-foot jump when the pair met up recently.

Richard won a bronze medal for men’s artistic gymnastics event at the 2024 Olympics - meaning he is pretty good at what he does.

As you'd expect, he easily managed the six-foot jump, even doing a backflip on the way back down as the cherry on the cake.

"You were confident before, let’s see after this one," the Olympian said before Speed attempted the jump.

But it turns out Speed had every reason to be confident, since he instantly made the jump without breaking a sweat.

Richard admitted he was 'impressed' with the social media influencer and offered to train him.

Many have flocked to the comments section of the viral video, with one person penning: "Nah Speed did it soo effortlessly, is there anything he can’t do?"

"Born to be an athlete forced to be an influencer," a second joked, while a third remarked: "If Speed takes one of these sports serious he can be a true athlete because that jump just proves it for me."

Finally, a fourth stated: "Nahh this crazy, the fact he slowed down on his run up too."

Last week, Speed took on Olympic champion Noah Lyles in a 50m sprint for $100,000 and it was surprisingly close.

While Lyles, as expected, won - it certainly wasn't by a massive margin by any means.

Writing on YouTube, one fan wrote: "A 19-year-old kid got that close to the fastest man alive.

"Now imagine what would happen if he was professionally trained."

Another said: "I don’t know about y'all, but the race being THAT CLOSE, is actually MIND BOGGLING. Full Props to Speed."

And a third remarked: "Speed barely lost against the Olympic champion, straight after a 3 hour drive. That's impressive. Huge W."
