Having a good relationship with your neighbours can be a wonderful way to build a strong sense of community but unfortunately, sometimes things can sour very quickly.

For one person who was thoroughly fed up of their neighbour's X-rated antics, they finally snapped and took some rather spectacular revenge.

Many of us have been left puzzled by the sounds of mysterious banging coming from the other side of the wall or ceiling, but in this case, the noise resulted in the person losing a lot of sleep.

Let's just say that their neighbour was not trying to hang a picture or put up a shelf.

Taking to the Reddit thread r/pettyrevenge, the poster said that they were being kept up by someone frequently coming to visit their neighbour in the early hours of the morning.

Not only that, but they were able to deduce that the man who was visiting their neighbour was actually cheating on his partner.

They explained: "He comes over at odd hours of the night and they have sex very loudly (I can hear a lot) and it wakes me up/prevents me from sleeping.

"How do I know it's an affair? He's never spent the night and his car has baby car seats in there."

They explained that this was not the first time they had had some run ins with their neighbour, explaining: "I've had issues with my upstairs neighbor prior to this. She would throw parties on Monday nights, she gets home at 2am from work pacing her condo and having loud phone conversations.

"She's 40 years old throwing parties with 20y/o and having affairs and living like a teenager."

They added: "I tried to talk to her like a normal person about my concerns but she doesn't care and I've had to get the association involved to stop the parties. I hate her."

So, what did they do then?

The furious and sleep-deprived person decided to learn a bit more about the man who was visiting.

First, they were able to find out his address by searching his car's licence plate.

Once they found the address they were able to search that and get a name.

Then they did a little 'social media stalking' before discovering the man's profile, and his wife's.

From there it was just a case of them making a burner account and messaging the wife telling her everything.

They finished their story by writing: "I haven't seen him now for a few weeks and I'm sleeping really nicely."

You know what they say about revenge...
