If you enjoy traveling and want to tick off some of the biggest landmarks on the planet, then you've probably thought about visiting the pyramids in Egypt.

Attracting millions of tourists every single year, the ancient structures certainly take visitors on a trip back in time.

Renowned as a UNESCO Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the pyramids are, of course, incredibly impressive on the outside, but not many people are familiar with what's inside.

Since the pyramids were once sealed to stop people from entering, videos documenting the interior often go viral.

And footage giving a look inside the popular tourist attraction has recently left many social media users a little uncomfortable.

The video, which was shared on TikTok by @youneszarou, shows the content creator entering the pyramids in Egypt.

And if you are claustrophobic then this is probably not going to be for you.

It may not look there is any way inside of the pyramid, however the video shows how it is riddled with tunnels, chambers and side passages.

Many of these branch off to other rooms, leading to the ultimate maze experience.

The man can be seen just about squeezing through extremely tight passage ways, and many folks online can't quite believe how cramped the pyramids really are.

“My claustrophobia could never,” one user penned, while another wrote: "I can't breathe watching this."

A third commented: "Claustrophobia left the chat."

And someone else added: "I'm panicking just watching."

Of course, when the pyramids were built, there was no such thing as health and safety.

Add modern lighting on top of that, and you've got a pretty ancient monument.

Despite the pyramids being thousands of years old, scientists are still finding out so much about them.

Just last year, experts located a nine-meter hidden passageway inside the Egyptian Pyramid of Khufu.

The Egyptian tourism and antiquities minister announced this amazing discovery in March 2023, providing answers to those looking into the matter.

The group Scan Pyramid are part of a mission to see the inside of pyramids by using technology such as scanners and infrared thermography.

They do not know currently what the passageway is for just yet, but the findings have provided some clues.

According to Mostafa Waziri, the Head of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, the ceiling of the tunnel indicates it was built to relieve the weight of the pyramid.

"But a big question mark hangs over whether this corridor was created to relieve the weight on the [main] entrance or lighten the load on a space yet to be discovered," he said.

"Scanning work will continue to uncover more secrets.”
