There is now questioning that there is a huge tipping culture in the US, something that has divided opinion online over the past few months.

While there have been many examples of tipping work well, there has been - well let's say - divisive moments in recent months.

In a viral clip that has been viewed more than 2.5 million times on TikTok, a delivery driver was filmed engaging in a rather heated conversation with a couple over a tip. Take a look:

According to the driver, it appears the couple did not provide a tip for the $400 grocery order, as she said: "You should see how much work this was and why I should be getting a tip because of how much work this was."

The delivery driver then emphasized the importance of tipping, however the coupe's stance did not change throughout the three-minute video.

"No, you don’t deserve a tip, you’re crushing the ramen noodles for one," one of them told the worker.

The driver became visibly more frustrated at this point, as she insists she will now be returning all of the items to the store.

"They’re not for you anymore," the angered delivery driver said as she put all the groceries back into her car.

The delivery driver was certainly not impressed.

"I had to pack all of this in my car and bring it to you guys and unpack it. You didn’t pay me. You paid the delivery app," the woman added.

One half of the couple then accused the delivery driver of stealing their food, as they told her they would be reporting her for not handing over the food.

"You guys can get your refund, and another delivery driver can deal with you guys," the woman insisted.

The argument seemed to never end, with the TikTok ending with the worker continuing to load the groceries back into her car.

The altercation has divided opinion in the comments section, causing some rather heated debate.

"$400 AND NO TIP? I’m with her," one TikTok user penned.

The delivery driver loaded the order back into her car.

A second added: "I’m sorry but ordering all the stuff and not tipping is insane!"

While a third remarked: "$400 worth of groceries AND NO TIP... the disrespect and entitlement is insane."

On the other hand, others suggested that the delivery driver is not necessarily entitled to a tip.

"Regardless, whether she tips or not tipping culture is out of control in America," one person wrote.

While a second added: "Tipping is optional! Idc if I paid $400! I’m glad they didn’t tip her because acting entitled for a tip is CRAZY!!!"
