Footage has been released of a man testing bulletproof glass with his wife holding it up in front of her face.
We all know that the 1930s weren’t great times for women’s rights anyway, but having your wife hold up allegedly bulletproof glass in front of her to see if it works, it’s taking things to a whole new level.
Video footage from 1932 has been posted to Reddit of a man attempting to try out just how bulletproof an early version of bulletproof glass actually was.

Totally reasonable experiment on the surface.
When you try it out with your wife involved, things start to get a little questionable.
In the video, we can see the woman holding the piece of glass up near her face, and the man pointing the trigger towards the glass ready to shoot and try it out.
At this point we’re all thinking, I wonder how sure he was that this was in fact bulletproof, and if not, what were his actual intentions with this whole scenario?!

You will be pleased to know that when he shot the gun, the glass was in fact bulletproof, although his poor wife did jump out of her skin.
The other factor we’re not taking into account here is the man’s aim.
Her fingers were wrapped around the glass, so one wrong move and it was not a great day for this pair.

The husband continued to take several shots at the glass, each time making a different dint in the glass, and presumably making his wife slightly more nervous.
People raced to the comments to state the obvious about this bizarre encounter.
One said: “He shot that glass more times than I would like.”
Another joked: “Awww, sh*t, it actually works.”

A third added: “Her fingers are wrapped around the sides.
“This was not a well thought out plan unless he was actively trying to shoot her.”
Another person said: “I mean, I guess with a real person behind the glass, you can claim that there's by no means any doctoring to the footage at all, if I had to guess he probably had already tested the glass before this, but maybe it's like everyone else says and he was hoping it wouldn't work lol.”
One person commented on the man’s aim, saying: “Even if you have very good reasons to trust your glass I'm not sure she should trust his aim.

“Like surely he must have had bigger panes of that glass to completely cover her instead of doing that.”
