Woman dumps partner after he admits to 'gross' habit nearly half of men are guilty of

Woman dumps partner after he admits to 'gross' habit nearly half of men are guilty of

Heed this as a warning to make sure you know a partner's habits before you move in with them

We all have certain bad habits and quirks, but apparently there's one that nearly 50 percent of men share and it even led to one woman to ditch her partner over it.

Living with someone is never easy - whether it's how someone stacks the dishwasher, someone leaving the toilet seat up or not taking the bins out, it can be difficult path to navigate and a learning experience for all involved.

You may not think you need to lay certain basic ground rules or level of expectations, but alas, one woman found out the hard way that it's better to leave no stone unturned before considering moving in with someone - particularly a romantic partner.

Taking to Reddit thread r/texts, the woman shared screenshots of her text message conversation with her ex-boyfriend.

The pair had moved in after two years together, but three months into the relationship, they began having some issues.

The caption reads: "The text conversation that foreshadowed our breakup."

And the reason for the pair's separation? Well, it has something to do with cleanliness.

The text messages show the Redditer asking her partner if he could 'throw the bedsheets in the wash' for her.

The request is hardly rocket science, yet the guy's reply reads: "Why?"

Spelling it out, the woman says the sheets are dirty and she washes them 'once a week,' requesting they start 'alternating' who washes them every week to make the household chore 'a little more fair'.

However, the Redditer's boyfriend is having none of it, complaining it's not 'fair to [him]' he argues the sheets 'don't need to be washed every week' and she's simply 'creating more work' for him.

So, how often does he wash his bedsheets then? Prepare yourselves.

The - now former - boyfriend reveals he washes his sheets 'once every other month'. Oh, and that's 'if that'.

The Redditer brands the lack of washing 'disgusting' and when he argues she should just wash the sheets if she wants 'something done a certain way' and she says she doesn't 'feel comfortable,' he suggests she sleep on the 'couch' instead, branding her 'controlling'.

The woman adds in the caption her former partner later admitted that he 'only washed his bedsheets twice a year'.

She added in the comments of the post: "I only lasted another five months before I moved out and dumped him. [...] Before you ask, no he wasn’t depressed. Just super lazy, gross, and entitled."

And if you thought that was bad, imagine finding out he's not the only guy who's guilty of this.

A British study released earlier this year revealed 45 percent of single men wash their bed sheets around every four months, according to the New York Post.

And 12 percent admitted they only do it when they remember - and who knows how long that is.
