Off the back of Storm Dudley, Eunice and Franklin, 13 Minutes has become one of Netflix's most popular movies.
The UK has been absolutely battered over the past week: church spires have been toppling and stadiums ripped to shreds; vast areas of the country have been stripped of power; and people have been evacuated from their homes from fears of floods.
What else is there to do in this sort of weather than hunker down, stick on the telly and watch a movie? Better yet, why not let art imitate life and put on a disaster movie? For Netflix, it's been the perfect storm for 13 Minutes to make a dramatic climb up the national top 10.

Check out the trailer for 13 Minutes below:
13 Minutes, a 2021 movie directed by Lindsay Gossling and starring Crank's Amy Smart, is currently number four on Netflix's UK's chart, just behind One Of Us Is Lying, Love Is Blind and Inventing Anna.
'The largest tornado on record threatens to ravage a small town, leaving residents with only 13 minutes to find shelter, search for loved ones and fight for their lives. In the wake of total devastation, four families must overcome their differences and find strength in themselves and one another to survive,' the official synopsis reads. For reference, the movie itself lasts 108 minutes.

It arrived to little fanfare: its current international box office gross stands at $21,768; and its Rotten Tomatoes rating is sitting at 27%. 'This effort will satisfy neither those looking for sensitive, character-driven drama nor disaster movie fans, the latter of whom will be disappointed by the relative lack of cinematic mayhem,' The Hollywood Reporter's Frank Scheck wrote.
Despite thousands of subscribers clearly giving it a go, it's been met with a similar reception on social media. 'The film 13 Minutes on Netflix is called this as most people turn it off around that time,' one user wrote. 'Well that new Netflix release 13 Minutes is certainly a disaster movie. Avoid,' another wrote. 'If anyone suggests watching 13 Minutes on Netflix, please, just don’t. 1 hour and 50 minutes of my life wasted, absolutely dreadful,' a third tweeted.
Yet, against the tide, it's found a few fans. 'Beware there's some real golden turkey's on Netflix at the moment. 13 Minutes was pretty good, watched it yesterday,' one wrote. 'We've just finished 13 Minutes on Netflix. Not a bad movie at all!' another tweeted. 'You want to see to see a shocking storm/tornado watch 13 Minutes on Netflix right now! The aftermath is shocking! Gripping and must-see film. I'm glued,' a third wrote.
