No details have been given yet about his involvement in the Aquaman sequel, with many noting that nothing was mentioned at the weekend's Comic Con in San Diego.
Affleck hasn’t played Bruce Wayne since 2017's Justice League, previously describing the filming of superhero flick as one of 'the worst experiences'.
However, the actor, 49, will first reprise his role in the upcoming film The Flash, and recently told The Herald Sun that it was “a really nice finish on my experience with that character.”

He shared: “I have never said this - this is hot off the presses - but maybe my favorite scenes in terms of Batman and the interpretation of Batman that I have done, were in the Flash movie.
“I hope they maintain the integrity of what we did because I thought it was great and really interesting - different, but not in a way that is incongruent with the character.
“Who knows? Maybe they will decide that it doesn’t work, but when I went and did it, it was really fun and really, really satisfying and encouraging and I thought, ‘Wow - I think I have finally figured it out.’”

Elsewhere, Amber Heard was forced to deny that she had been cut from Aquaman 2, which is set to be released in December.
In June, a report started circling that claimed Heard had been ‘recast’ in the sequel and her scenes were going to be ‘reshot’ with another actress.
However, Heard, who was embroiled in her defamation case with ex Johnny Depp at the time, was quick to rubbish the claims, calling them ‘inaccurate’ and ‘insensitive’.
TMZ published an article with the headline 'Amber Heard Cut From Aquaman 2, Will Be Recast', and claimed to have spoken to a Warner Bros. source who said: “Warner Bros. decided to recast Amber Heard‘s role after screen testing the movie. They are going to be doing reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman.”
Reporting on the article at the time, MailOnline reached out to Heard’s rep, who quickly shut down the rumours, telling the publication: “The rumour mill continues as it has from day one - inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane.”
