Bill Hader has finally revealed why he won’t sign Star Wars merchandise, despite working on the beloved franchise.
Back in 2015, the IT actor worked as a voice consultant on The Force Awakens and even helped bring the droid BB-8 to life.
However, the 44-year-old soon stopped signing merch after an awkward encounter with a fan.

It’s just one of many revelations the actor has made as he promotes Beau is Afraid, Ari Aster's latest thriller that the comedian made a cameo in.
The actor even revealed that his experience of anxiety and panic attacks helped shape the titular character in HBO series, Barry.
"There's definitely been moments in the show where the character has gotten panicked and got a panic attack, and I definitely felt that before," Hader confessed during a recent interview with People magazine.

The former SNL cast member then went on to explain that he’d ‘frequently’ experienced panic attacks during his time on the late-night sketch show.
In fact, Hader found it extremely easy to empathise with his character, saying: "You know Barry has a panic attack and you go, 'I know exactly what that feels like'."
As he continues his current press tour, the Inside Out star also revealed why he no longer signs Star Wars merch – despite having recently worked on the galaxy far far away.

Joking that ‘autograph people' don’t like him during the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actor admitted that a fan encounter had put him off for life.
He told host Josh Horowitz: "I was leaving the Inside Out premiere and then we went to an after-party thing and it was super late and this guy kept his kid up all night. [He was like], 'Go over there so he'll sign it so I can sell it online'."
According to the actor, it was well past 3am when the incident occurred and since then, he hasn’t wanted to autograph anything from the franchise.
"I was like, 'That's f**ked up,' " Hader admitted, adding: "And so now, I just kind of blanket, like, I'm not signing any of this s**t."

Harder also had a hard time taking credit for his part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with the film no longer appearing on his IMDb page.
Reflecting on the role, he told listeners: “I came in and did like voice stuff for it that didn't work… Then, he [J.J. Abrams] brought me in later and said, 'Hey, do you want to do this.' It was like a … talk box thing and then I did that. And the reason he hasn't had me come back is because anybody can do that.”
Apparently, Hader is not the droid you are looking for.
