Producers of 2009 movie The Blind Side have explained just how much money the Tuohy family and Michael Oher received from it.
If you haven't seen it the movie is based on the real life story of now retired NFL star Michael Oher, only the man himself contests that some of it doesn't really hold up to reality.
It follows a homeless teenager (Oher, played by Quinton Aaron) who's going in and out of education before he gets adopted by Leigh Anne (Sandra Bullock) and Sean Tuohy (Tim McGraw).

His adoption sets him on the path to glory and stardom in the NFL as the film ends with Michael going to college before a montage of real-life footage shows him becoming a football star.
Oher has a few bones to pick with how he's portrayed in The Blind Side, including the film showing him as a struggling student when he said he did just fine in school once he had 'consistent academic instruction'.
He was also frustrated that the movie showed him being taught to play football by his adoptive brother with ketchup bottles.

Oher said he felt like the film 'took away the hard work and dedication' he had as a child, though he's got some even more serious concerns than how he was represented in the movie.
The former NFL star is currently suing the Tuohy family as he alleges that they never legally adopted him and claims that they 'tricked him' into signing a conservatorship.
He's claimed that the Tuohy family 'enriched themselves' at his expense, and while they have agreed to end their conservatorship over the now 37-year-old, a lawyer for the family has said it is 'transparently ridiculous' to claim that they tried to profit off Michael.
Now the movie's producers have weighed in on the matter and cleared up just how much everyone involved with the movie made from it.

They have said that the Tuohy family, including Oher, collectively received around $767,000 in total from payments from The Blind Side.
This figure also 'did not include significant payouts in the event of the film's success' since the people the film was based on were deemed to be 'relatively unknown individuals'.
While the movie raked in over $330 million at the box office and has since made more money, the producers told People that the Tuohy family didn't receive millions of dollars that Oher missed out on.

Oher had claimed that the family received $225,000 and 2.5 percent of proceeds from the film.
He has also asked for a full accounting of the money the Tuohys made from The Blind Side, alleging that they never filed accounts for his finances.
By Tennessee state law, they are supposed to file his finances annually since they are his conservators.
