Brad Pitt has been around the block, it's fair to say.
With a career that's spanned four decades, he's starred in some of the biggest movies ever made, from Fight Club and Seven to Inglorious Basterds and Snatch.
And as a result of that, Pitt has also worked with a plethora of great directors, each of whom has their own style and approach to their craft.

So he's well-versed in the art and the perfect person to speak to when it comes to differing ways of directing actors on set - some better than others, no doubt.
During an interview with the BBC last year, ahead of the release of his comedy thriller Bullet Train, Pitt was asked just that.
Sitting alongside co-stars Bryan Tyree Henry and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the 59-year-old was asked if he had received any interesting notes while working on a movie.

Host Ali Plumb said: "What is the most memorable you've ever got, across your whole career, not just in this movie. What notes have you been given?"
Clearly having one in mind, Pitt jumps in and takes the lead.
"I actually have an answer for this," he says, gleefully.
"I worked with this director, may remain nameless, and he goes, 'You know, when a serial killer has a victim around the throat and chokes them till they pass out and then revives them so he can do it again, do that!'"

For obvious reasons, Pitt was good to his word and didn't name said director.
However, that has not stopped some of his fans doing a bit of amateur sleuthing on the internet to try and track them down.
Diving into the comments on YouTube, a bunch of film lovers have been working hard to uncover the identity of the person responsible for these notes.

So, what have they come up with as yet?
Well, looking back through the actor's movies, a few directors have been suggested, the first being David Fincher.
While Fincher did work with Pitt on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, it's more likely that fans are referring to his roles in Fight Club or Seven, both of which are decidedly brutal movies.

Another name that's been thrown into the ring is, unsurprisingly, Quentin Tarantino, who directed Pitt in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Inglorious Basterds.
"That definitely sounds like something Tarantino would say," commented one person.
Others, however, suggested that he was actually talking about Doug Liman, who directed Mr and Mrs Smith.
Explaining their seemingly solid reasoning, one fan said: "Mr and Mrs Smith when he’s in marriage counselling and pretends to choke someone."
But yet again, some disagreed, with another claiming it could be Dominic Seña, who Pitt worked with on the 1993 flick Kalifornia.
Sadly, though, unless the man himself decides to reveal who it was, I guess we'll never know.
