The day is finally here - 21 July - the day where two of the biggest releases of the year so far release on the same day.
While from the outside it seems like a pretty silly move from both the creators of Oppenheimer and Barbie, it does mean film junkies can watch two big-budget titles back-to-back this Friday.
Christopher Nolan is one of the big players on this film-heaven Friday, as he directs Oppenheimer.
The latest film from the famed director tells the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer (played by Cillian Murphy) and his role in developing the atomic bomb which was used in World War II – something he earned the title as the ‘father of the atomic bomb’ for.

With a run time of three hours, it also stars Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh and Matt Damon.
But while Nolan is set to make a staggering amount of money through Oppenheimer, his bank balance is likely already pretty healthy thanks to the eye-watering amount he has made from all of his movies so far.
So, let's start off with all of the films Nolan has directed, which is a hefty 17 now that Oppenheimer is on the list.

Before the 2023 film, Nolan directed Tenet, Dunkirk, Quay, Interstellar and The Dark Knight Rises.
His impressive resume includes also includes: The Prestige, Batman Begins, Cinema 16: British Short Films, Insomnia, Memento, Following and short films, Doodlebug, Larceny and Tarantella.
While some of his earlier project made very little dollar, some of Nolan's recent blockbusters have made mega-money.
For example, Tenet made over $365 million worldwide, while the much-loved World War II film Dunkirk made a whopping $527,000,000.

2014's Interstellar went even further than that with a staggering $773 million worldwide, and The Dark Knight Rises beat that with over a $1 billion passed.
The now 13-year-old Inception (yep, we feel old too) made an impressive $870 million, while 2008's The Dark Knight surpassed $1 billion just like its sequel.
If you add all the worldwide earnings together, Nolan's films have made a staggering $4,270,857,770 billion.

While of course, not all of that money has landed in Nolan's bank account, the film director has likely been handed a nice chunk of it.
And with Oppenheimer regarded as one of the biggest films this year, he'll likely be adding a few more zeros to his bank account in the coming months.
