Fans of the cult classic Community will be disappointed to hear that production on the film version of the hit TV show has been halted.
Yep, just as fans were gearing up to go back to Greendale Community College, it seems they will have to wait a little bit longer so see what Jeff Winger and the rest of the gang are up to.
Community star Joel McHale, who plays Winger in the smash-hit series, told Variety the cast were preparing to start filming when production ground to a stop.

"We had a shooting date coming up, which was going to be in the summer,” McHale told Variety.
"And I think they were extremely close to — I mean, Dan is somebody that tweaks things but, obviously, that’s all stopped. But I think it was pretty darn close."
Boo.

Looks like school is still out. For the time being at least, with McHale adding why production has stalled.
"It was close, the shoot date was coming up and we were all excited to do it and then the writers strike happened, which obviously put everything on hold, and rightfully so," McHale said.
He added: "The writers are asking for very reasonable things. Writers need to be paid properly."

So, once the Writers Guild of America end their strike and get paid what they're due, then hopefully we'll see the Community movie back on track.
The update comes just over a month after Donald Glover officially confirmed he will return to the greatest lineup of stars since Troy and Abed In The Morning.
Speaking to GQ, Glover revealed he has signed on to the reunion project, and he answered fans' questions with a total non-answer.
"The Community movie, there’s some progress on it. We’re supposed to be shooting it soon," Glover said.

He then added: "I know just as much about it as you do."
Well, what we do know is that by using the word 'we're', which is a collective verb that includes the user and a group of people, Glover has just given away the Community shooting secret on everybody's lips.
He's rejoining the cast for the feature film.

With that one simple verb, we've gone from Community character Abed's feared 'darkest timeline' to the greatest timeline.
So fingers crossed that's still happening.
Don't leave us living in the darkest timeline, guys.
Because that's what life without Community has been like.
