If you got 100 TV fans in a room and got them to try to agree on what show was best, chances are you’d have 50 fans yelling one thing, 50 yelling another, and all 100 agreeing that they hate you the most for daring to ask.
Whilst that could maybe be said of almost any attempt to form an online consensus, film and TV fans are probably second only to sport fans in their incapability to do so.
When it comes to the best TV shows ever there are simply too many fans who feel too strongly for anyone to really agree on a list.

Everyone agrees that Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Wire, and The Sopranos should be up there in some capacity, but in what order?
What of more recent entries such as Succession, Fleabag, and Severance?
Where do comedies fit in? What places do The Office, Seinfeld, and Friends, three of the most popular shows ever, take?

One attempt was made to collate all possible ways to decide this, taking in IMDb ratings, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and various other aggregator sites in an attempt to come up with a ‘definitive’ answer.
Obviously that just led to more arguing.
See the list here - which was shared to LADbible's Facebook group Netflix Bangers - and take a look to see if you can spot what caused the biggest arguments.

If you guessed all of it, you’d be correct.
Unsurprisingly Breaking Bad took the top spot, with second place Game of Thrones’ final season hurting its chances massively.
Rounding out the top five was Chernobyl in third, The Sopranos in fourth, and Band of Brothers in fifth.
Notice anyone missing?

The fan who posted it to Netflix Bangers wrote in the caption: “I was surprised to see The Wire down at #6 on the list of best shows of all time!”
Another member of the group commented: “The Wire is the greatest show of all time”.
Whilst some argued over the top of the list, others found issues with the make up of the entire 50 itself.

One commented: “Without The West Wing, Sons of Anarchy and Homeland, this list cant be taken seriously.”
Another said: “How is [Sons Of Anarchy] not on this list?? that’s my #1 of all time, with breaking bad at 2”.
Whilst I personally am still trying to recover from The Boys ranking higher than The Last Of Us, Mare of Easttown, and Lost, you’re never going to please everyone.
