It's been a long time - or at least it's felt like it - since it was announced that Ahsoka Tano was getting her own spin-off.

For those of you out there who don't have a clue who she is, Ahsoka is a pretty badass Jedi and leader of rebel forces in the fight against the Empire.
Introduced to the series as Anakin Skywalker's padawan in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka quickly became a fan favourite.
And since then, she's gone on to appear in Star Wars Rebels, and most recently along with Din Djarin in The Mandalorian.
Played by Rosario Dawson in the upcoming series, it looks like we're going to see more to see lots more of Ahsoka as she looks to defeat Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The synopsis reads: "Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy."
Speaking last year about the series, creator Dave Filoni told Comicbook.com that there was obvious pressure to do justice to the franchise and the character, but that he was having a blast.
"Oh, it's fantastic," he said. "I mean, it's everything I could hope for. I never dreamed of [running a live-action series] as I was learning over the years.

"But to have a character that's just come up over the years with a lot of fans as they've grown up and now she's at the point where we can do this, it's wonderful to be this same person guiding it across the different mediums, I think lends a consistency to the character that's very uncommon."
The show's star, Dawson, also opened up about the series.
Offering fans an update in September, she said that filming was close to completion and she said it's been incredible to make.

She told Screenrant: "Yes, we're still filming it right now. We just have a couple months left. It's going great. It's really amazing learning martial arts in my 40s.
"It's super amazing, and I don't use that word very lightly. My grandmother used to say, 'Amazing is two blue horses,' if you ever said something was amazing.
"Because it'd be like, 'No, amazing is two blue horses. That pizza slice probably isn't amazing.'"
While a specific date hasn't been released, according to the trailer, Ahsoka should hit our screens in August.
